Want to buy a car whilst social distancing?
How you can safely view and buy cars from our dealer partners
Our dealer partners are working hard to make sure you can view, test drive and buy your perfect set of wheels safely at the moment. The UK Government has advised that from Monday 1st June, car showrooms can re-open.
It goes without saying that the safety of our customers, dealer partners and employees is our number one priority. That’s why we wanted to let you know of some of the measures you can expect to see from our dealer partners.
Appointments at the dealership
One of the safest ways to visit a dealership is to book an appointment, so that the number of people inside the showroom is limited and social distancing is maintained. Within the showroom, you should expect to find increased deep-cleaning routines, hand sanitiser available and no handshakes or contact.
Please make sure you’re following the latest Government advice and do not visit a dealership if you feel at all unwell - for the safety of yourself and the community.
One Way Systems
Many of our dealer partners have advised that they’ll be operating one-way systems in their showrooms, similar to what you might find at the supermarket at the moment. Please make sure you’re following these if they’re in place when you visit a showroom.
Extra hygiene measures
You can expect there to be increased hygiene measures at showrooms - for example, wiping down of cars with sanitising wipes, and hand sanitiser readily available.
Private test drives
Some dealers are offering private test drives of cars. That’s right - just you, the car, and the open road. This means that social distancing can be maintained, but you can still take a test drive. If you’re interested in doing this, speak to your dealer.
Appointments at home
Many of our dealer partners are offering to bring test drives or viewings to your home, in order to maintain social distancing and it means that if you don’t have a car already, you don’t need to take public transport to see one. To request this, simply include it in the message you send to the dealer.
As with visiting a dealership, don’t request a home viewing if you feel at all unwell - for the safety of yourself and the community.
If neither of these options work for you, some dealers are also offering video tours, so you can easily see if the car is perfect for you without leaving your home. Even more of our listings now have videos included - you can simply filter by ‘Listings with videos’.
