What are the most popular MINIs for sale?

Most people know "MINI" as the small three-door hatchback which kick-started the brand in its current incarnation back in 2000. The range has grown over the years, with the addition of a coupe and convertible, plus larger Clubman and Countryman models which are popular in their own right.

Can you buy an electric MINI?

Yes, you can. We can see the MINI Electric being really popular with people who are looking for a stylish, luxurious and fun way to undertake their (extremely short) daily commute, and for either financial or environmental reasons, fancy doing it on electric-only power. Let’s get this straight from the get-go: for most people, this won't work as your family’s only car.

The range is far too limited for that, and so is interior space, and there are lots of electric hatches that do a lot better on both scores. However, if your commute is only a short hop, and you also have access to a bigger, more practical combustion-engined car at weekends, then the MINI Electric could make a very appealing weekday runabout. Which is MINI right for me?

The basic MINI Hatch is a great starter car and, although it is relatively expensive, even the cheapest version is fun to drive. The 5dr brings useful space in the rear to make it much more suitable as a family car, while the Clubman takes the space offering a step further with its quirky tailgate arrangement. The Countryman is the biggest model in the MINI range and therefore the most practical.

Tell me something I don’t know about MINI

Although the MINI was launched as a product of BMW in 2001, much of the development work took place under the joint efforts of Rover and BMW. The MINI brand was reborn in 2000, following BMW’s takeover and subsequent break-up of MG Rover. An all-new model was designed and built, with the emphasis on retro design and sporty handling rather than the space efficiency and economy of the original Mini. Since the original hatch went on sale in 2001, the MINI range has expanded substantially, introducing larger and more practical models with a variety of powertrains and body styles.
