What are the most popular Porsches for sale?

The most famous model that Porsche sells is the 911 - with a heritage dating back decades. However, in recent years the range has expanded with the Cayenne SUV, Boxster and Macan proving popular cars for sale with buyers.

Can you buy an electric Porsche?

Yes, you can, the Porsche Taycan. The Porsche Taycan feels so revolutionary among its electric car contemporaries because it feels like it’s been engineered first as a conventional car, rather than having its electric drivetrain dominate. It drives beautifully, is easy to use and its charging time and, crucially, range are impressive enough that they’re no longer compromises, or at least not such significant ones. Fast, beautiful, fun to drive and electric, the charging network needs to speed up to catch up with the Porsche Taycan, but if this is the future, bring it on.

Which Porsche is right for me?

Porsche is a premium German car manufacturer specialising in high performance vehicles. While its models today are guaranteed to turn heads and put a smile on your face, it actually has its roots in the classic Volkswagen Beetle.

It was originally established in 1931 by Ferdinand Porsche to provide development services to other manufacturers, and was commissioned by the German government to create the ‘car for the people’ which went on to be the Volkswagen Beetle.

Today, Porsche is better known for its mid-engined sports cars like the 911. However, more than 60 per cent of cars it produces are SUVs like the Macan and Cayenne. These are great for families who want to combine a flash image with a car that’s great to drive but still very practical.

The same could be said about the Porsche Panamera, while the Boxster and Cayman appeal to those who want a desirable two-seater sports car, while the 911 is arguably the best all-round sports car on sale. The Porsche Taycan is a new electric GT car with a range of up to 288 miles.

Tell me something I don’t know about Porsche

The Porsche 911 was almost badged the Porsche 901. When it was presented at the 1964 Paris Motor Show, Peugeot objected to the name as it was too similar to its own model line-up, all of which were named as three-digit numbers with a zero in the middle. Porsche responded by changing the ‘0’ for a ‘1’, although a few early models had already been delivered to customers with the ‘901’ badge.
