People familiar with the LDV name will associate it with the UK-based manufacturer of panel vans dating back to the 1980s. LDV these days is a Chinese-owned company and the vans are not made in the UK. LDV was rescued from bankruptcy in 2009 by the Chinese automotive manufacturer SAIC. Since then it has enjoyed success in the UK as a value-focused commercial vehicle manufacturer with the V80 large panel van and its five-year/125,000 mile warranty.
Which LDV is right for me?
Diesel-powered V80 is the mainstay of the range. It was joined in 2020 by electric versions. The smallest version of the electric van has a payload of 855kg and a loadspace of 5.0 cubic metres, while the long wheelbase van provides 1000kg payload and 6.3 cubic metres.
Tell me something I don’t know about LDV
This manufacturer is known as Maxus from 2020, with the launch coinciding with the launch of a new electric van: the e Deliver 3.
