Looking for a new car in 2021? We've listed all the important new cars that will go on sale in 2021 and beyond.

The last 12 months may have been anything but normal, yet we still saw the launch of several important new cars such as the Volkswagen ID.3, Honda Jazz and the BMW 4 Series. Has there ever been so much controversy over a grille...

In terms of new cars, 2021 looks to be a bumper year with things slowly returning to some form of normality as we see car showrooms open once again and car production ramping up. We may even see the return of Lada. Here then are the best new cars for 2021 and beyond.

Citroen C5 X - 2021

The Citroen C5 X is what you'd get if a saloon, SUV and estate defied biology and mated. It embodies the French firm's history for turning out quirky cars like the avant-garde DS saloon and the French peasant's crossover, the 2CV. Ironically, the C5 X will compete with some of the most staid models currently on sale, its split personality allowing it to fend off attacks from regular saloons like the Volkswagen Passat as well as SUVs such as VW's Tiguan and estates like Skoda's imperious Superb estate

Honda HR-V - 2021

The 2021 Honda HR-V is set to go on sale towards the end of the year with a starting price of around £22,000, about £2000 more than the old model that didn't have the same clever hybrid tech. The Honda will compete with cars like the Nissan JukeFord Puma and Skoda Kamiq. Although the Honda costs significantly more than all but the Puma, it claims to have interior space comparable to larger cars like the Nissan Qashqai.

Mercedes C-Class - 2021

You can expect the 2021 Mercedes C-Class to start from £35,000 – its posh interior and hybrid technology meaning it'll be significantly more expensive than its arch rivals, the BMW 3 SeriesAudi A4 and Jaguar XE – with first deliveries expected in the summer. The estate model will carry a £2000 premium and, in time, you'll also be able to choose from coupe and convertible versions of the C-Class.

Nissan Qashqai - 2021

The 2021 new Nissan Qashqai (the third generation of the car) looks to move the game on even further bringing with it huge strides forward in mild and full-hybrid technology, an interior that's more spacious, posher and crammed full of tech, a lighter and stiffer body, as well as coming with a suite of autonomous driving aids.

Audi A6 e-tron - 2023
